Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how LLMtoMD (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use llmtomd.com and the LLMtoMD service (the “Service”). We’ve aimed to keep it plain and honest.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — your email address and authentication details when you register or sign in (including via Google, GitHub, or SSO if you choose).
• Files you upload — the documents, images, audio, and URLs you submit for conversion, and the Markdown and derived data (summaries, embeddings, extracted fields) we produce from them.
• Usage and billing data — conversion history, credit usage, plan, and payment status. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored on our servers.
• Technical data — IP address, browser type, and basic logs used to operate and secure the Service.

2. How we use your information

• to provide the Service — convert, index, store, and let you search and retrieve your documents;
• to process payments, manage your subscription, and meter credits;
• to secure the Service, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot;
• to communicate with you about your account, support requests, and important changes.

3. What we do not do

We do not sell your personal data or the content of your documents. We do not use your documents to train third-party AI models. Your content is used only to provide the Service to you.

4. Data retention

Source files you upload are processed to produce your Markdown and are automatically deleted within 24 hours. Converted Markdown and derived data are retained in your account so you can access them, until you delete them or close your account. You can delete documents at any time from the app.

5. Service providers (subprocessors)

We share limited data with trusted providers strictly to operate the Service:

• Cloud hosting & storage — to run the application and store your data;
• Payment processing — to handle subscriptions and billing securely;
• AI providers — for premium features (e.g. AI Vision, transcription, semantic analysis), relevant content may be sent to AI APIs solely to generate your result. These providers are contractually restricted from using your content to train their models.

6. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and tenant isolation so each organization’s data is segregated. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit retention. See our Security page.

7. Your rights

You can access, export, or delete your documents from within the app, and you may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing support@llmtomd.com. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access, correct, or delete your data and to object to certain processing.

8. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences (such as light/dark theme). We do not use them to sell your data.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
